I think it's time to update you with what has been going on, and what we expect to happen next. First, The Nominoichi is now sold out. All the tables have been reserved and the Stand-By list is now full. We are exploring options to add even more tables, but this may not happen until next year. Second, the denial of service ( DOS) attack on the mail server has been stopped. Normal service should be resumed and no further problems are expected. Once again, from both the IT department and from myself we wish to apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Please see this thread for more details and how you can help by sending us a copy of the any error messages you may have received, and especially if you get any more please let me know here. Third, some of the first ' you have a table' letters I sent out had a minor typo. Although it might have been clear from context, here is the corrected section: Fourth, Here is a draft copy of the table layout for the Nominoichi X and Fashion Swap. I would like to remind people that this is only a proposed version of the layout, and the final might not be the same as this: Because many of the suggestions to improve the Nominoichi had to do with reducing the noise and improving the line it was decided to move the event from Hall B into Hall A this year. Hall B will be for Gaming and, although they will be loud, it is hoped not as loud and the concert or dance was last year. Furthermore, to reduce the effect of outside noise all the tables will be placed in the centre of the room, and not along any of the perimeter. Also Hall A will have direct access to the outside for the Nominoichi line. It is hoped that the parking lot will have enough room for everyone! Fifth, at this time the Nominoichi forum is growing by many posts every day. There is far too much stuff for us to catch everything quickly, so it is very helpful when you see a post, thread, or comment that you think might be breaking any of the rules please use the 'report post' option, even if you are not sure, and we will take a look at it. We are very grateful for your help to keep an eye on things. Sixth, there will be a more information to share in the coming days. Please remember to check back here form time to time to see it. Also, please don't forget to come back to this forum after the Nominoichi and let us know how we did. Share what you think went well, what didn't, and if you have any ideas to improve next years event. I know it's a bit early to think about that now, but please don't forget about it next month. Seventh, Although there are a lot of great posts on this forum, there is still one I think that deserves some special recognition. SalisofKnight has done an outstanding job of organizing and updating a table index of all the lists sellers are posting here. While I'm sure others struggle with keeping their own list updated, he has been attempting to stay on top of everyones updates. All that effort had created a fantastic resource, and one I would recommend everyone, especially new uses, to check first. Should the heavy traffic on this forum ever temporarily slide it off the front page, you can always find it here: And finally....We are all very happy to see so many people posting here and generating great content. All your excitement and interest in the Nominoichi is what inspires us to do better. I may say this a lot, but really thanks for your interest in the Nominoichi.

I hope to be able to post maps of exactly where the lines should be soon, but to clarify:
Buyers, who will come in shopping at 7:00, will form one line outside Hall A in the parking lot of the TCC.
However, sellers will wait in another entirely separate location as detailed in the 'table letter' sent to them.

How do potential participants know if they've been placed on the waiting list? I was one of the unfortunate few whose emails were not received despite them having been sent within a minute of opening time, and since I'm traveling from the United States it is important for me to know if I should even consider bringing along my items.
Also, for those on the wait list, how should they go about pursuing a table at this point?

Unfortunately, at this time, the official stand-by list is full. I have already sent an email to all those who are on this list telling them what position they are. Once again, on behalf of the IT department and myself, we do wish to apologize for any problems caused by the attack.
For sellers who are on the stand-by list, they can only wait. If any seller wishes to cancel their table, as a few already have, then I'll contact those on the list to offer them that table.
Also, many full tables only have one or two sellers. Should they be looking for another to join them I have asked them to check this forum. Also sellers from the stand-by list are encouraged to look here as well.
However ...
People without tables who wish to join a sellers group are strongly cautioned to post carefully. They must NOT post a list of things they intend to sell, as this would be the same as posting a selling list without a valid table number. Any such post should be correctly reported as breaking the rules and removed.
Finally, the deadline for sellers to add or remove another member of their group is May 12th. No further changes will be allowed after this.

Once again, on behalf of the IT department and myself, we do wish to apologize for any problems caused by the attack. Respectfully, you mentioned that those that sent you private "Undelivered Mail Returned to Sender" messages with complete header information would receive priority based on the time when they first sent their request in. I sent my information to you via private message as requested and followed up with a second message two days later, though neither received replies. I even submitted a screenshot of the email to provide further proof of my submission. As I sent my initial table reservation seconds after the application period opened, was a victim of the DoS attack, and submitted my information to you as requested, it would seem to me that I should at least be given priority at or near the top of the wait list as opposed to being left off the list entirely. I'm honestly quite surprised that any of the early responders who had their emails blocked would not be granted table access upon providing proof of submission, as they were the earliest responders and not at fault for what occurred. I am not trying to cause trouble, and I can appreciate the difficulties of making such a large event work, but it is very frustrating that despite being proactive in my submission, having adhered to the rules, and having purchased tables in previous years that I would be excluded from the event.

Hi Chris, stupid question: 1) Setup 5:30 - 7 you need a ribbon to be in Hall A. 2) Event ends at 10:30, and we get 30 min to pack/get out - do we need ribbons or anything for ppl helping us to pack up?

Actually that is a great question.
Absolutely during the set-up time of 5:30 to 7:00 no "helpers" will be allowed into Hall A without a Nominoichi ribbon, and only sellers whose names are already on the list will be given ribbons. (Reminder: the deadline to add a sellers name to your table is May 12th)
However, we may be a little more forgiving after the events ends, between 10:30 and 11:00. Anyone who is packing boxes, or taking stuff away will be fine. Although, anyone without a ribbon who is just talking, or 'waiting', will be ejected from Hall A, and may wait outside.

And now back to our show... Eighth, (yes, I'm still listing) Let's open with a little nom ienclature. Two words we use a lot behind the scenes are buyers and sellers. The Buyers are the customers at the Nominoichi, they enter the room at 7:00 and want to go shopping. We have a lot of buyers. The sellers are people who have a tables reserved. Sellers need to get into the room early to set up their stuff. All sellers are on our master list. Here is a map of the TCC South (or main) building. I have shown exactly where the line for the Nominoichi should go. It will be outside, in the parking lot. This is the line for buyers. It is not the place for sellers. This line will not move until we open at 7:00. All people in this line MUST have an Anime North badge. If you are in waiting this line as see anyone without a badge, please direct them over to the Convention Main Entrance because that is where registration will be. Ninth, Sellers (i.e. only people who are on the list and registered at a table) will line up in Hall B, and then be admitted into Hall A as shown. Please remember that we, the Nominoichi staff, shall be the only people to admit you and that process won't start until 5:30. We aren't even going to be in the building before 5:00. It is advised that sellers try to arrive in Hall B sometime between 5:00 and 5:30. However, if sellers wish to wait in a hot cramped line for longer than is required, Hall B will be available to line up in from 4:00. Do not arrive any earlier than this. Sellers are to form a single long line, tight against the airwall (that divides Halls A and B) and to keep this line as tight and compact as possible. Remember that Hall B is going to used for Gaming and it will not be empty. Therefore, please try to remain quiet and stay as much out of the way as possible. All Chairs and Tables in Hall B are for Gaming and Nominoichi sellers are NOT allowed to sit on those chairs or put stuff on those tables. Your chairs and tables await you in Hall A! Tenth, Please note that Nominoichi Staff Tables are N114 and N115. They are at the end of the aisle and closest to the main doors. If anyone at the Nominoichi has any problems with buyers, sellers, volunteers, staff, or anyone else please come and at us at the staff tables first. Also you lose, find, or forget anything at the Nominoichi come and see us at the staff tables. Finally, if you need any help finding another sellers table come and see us. And that's all for today. However, please check back here for time to time as more information and updated become available. And, as always, thanks for your interest and support of the Nominoichi.

Thanks Chris, that helps a lot. Just to clarify, after 10:30 pm, IF there's helpers without a ribbon who is just helping to 'watch' items before they're moved, is that okay as long as they're obviously keeping an eye on packed items? EDIT: I apologize if it's been mentioned and I skipped it. Once we have our badges, where do we go to get inside hall B as sellers lining up? Do we just go through the main entrance then straight to hall B? I'm planning to pick up my badge early on Thursday pre-reg to avoid the longer lines on friday and just worry about the nomi.

Do we just go through the main entrance then straight to hall B? Correct. Sellers will enter the TCC through the Convention Main Entrance, and then enter Hall B from the inside. While we recommend that sellers arrive between 5:00 and 5:30, they are free to wait from 4:00, but not before then. Sellers should NOT wait in the buyers line, and buyers should NOT be in the sellers line.

I don't think so. I'd recommend bringing a bottle or two.
