Specific details and rules about the Nominoichi X event are being decided now and should be available on the website by the end of March. IF anyone has any ideas or suggestions on ways to improve the Nominoichi, or has an opinion about existing rules and procedures that you'd like to see added, removed, or amended, please let us know in an email or in this thread. PS: This is about the Nominoichi X event in particular and not about general Anime North issues and concerns. Unless, of course, it is related to the Nominoichi. |

I think a directory of some sort or the sellers should have a name tag with their table number so it is easier to tell which table is which since buyers usually obstruct the table number. |

I second Kai as I've always had a hard time finding the numbers for various reason(people in front of table, number hidden by items, number fallen off etc,) The nomi last year was stated to 10:30 yet i wasn't let back in when I dropped off some stuff to my room. It was 9:55 but the staff at the door said everything was stopped at 10 including the nomi so me and some friends weren't allowed in. If it was indeed done at 10 having the correct time would be good, if it is just policy to not let anyone in after ten perhaps notify people about it so they know.

I think a directory of some sort or the sellers should have a name tag with their table number so it is easier to tell which table is which since buyers usually obstruct the table number. Someone mentioned this idea in last year's improvement thread and suggested the sellers wear "Hello my name is..." tags with the table number on them. I think it's a pretty good idea since it should be much more visible than the table number which is usually blocked by people standing there. |

Yeah some solution for clearer table number markers (little flags?) is something to consider for sure. Other then people saying it was hard to see table numbers and the building closing during the end, I found Nominoichi a good experience as a first time seller!

also last year has a big water spill from the roof which cause the way of number to be wrong .... and there was a huge noises coming out the next so it was hard to hear ppl ... so try to get a good area this time

I was right next to the wall connecting Nominoichi to whatever concert was going on, and it was extremely hard to hear anyone. I know this is to a certain extent out of your control, but if anything could be done, that'd be great! |

i think also one of the problem that most buyer and seller have is the time that was the time it suppose to start ... if i recall it was delay for abouy 1/2 hour to 1 hour and most of the thing that was on hold was ether put back or dont know wat to do

Only thing I could say would be location. For peolple next to the side wall they had the concert playing next to it at the same time which made it really loud and hard to hear people. So just location in general don't put us in the room next to the concert

i think also one of the problem that most buyer and seller have is the time that was the time it suppose to start ... if i recall it was delay for abouy 1/2 hour to 1 hour and most of the thing that was on hold was ether put back or dont know wat to do This was the issue for me most of the stuff i had on hold was sold, which was upsetting if there is away to make sure it starts on time or at least give more time for the dealers to set up or have a set time to be set up so there is at least a half hour for down time before the buyers come in. |

a thing that i would like to address is that some of the volunteers for the line of Nom' were rude in away i do understand there was a hold up on the time and people were trying to either get in line or make the line longer which blocked off some areas but talking to people in a tone is fine but when threatening people was not fine very rude and i was scared to go into Nom' where i lost my items due to being scared that i would be "recognized" from the line and thrown out because i was trying to get my items.

I was one of the volunteers directing lines during the holdup at the start of Nomi. I want to apologize for anyone I might have scared with my raised voice, I did not issue any threats but i did become agitated and communicated that to con goers creating an uncomfortable atmosphere. The delay in the opening of Nomi is probably the biggest culprit here but not much could be done about that. Instead of a steady stream of people coming and going we had a mob of people who were either confused, scared, angry, or trying to sneak inside Nominoichi. The longer the delay the larger the crowd grew and every new person who arrived felt they couldn't possibly be attending whatever the huge mob was and would try to get in. I understand this completely I would probably do the same in their place. However, as you can imagine, the task of continuously turning back people gets a tad frustrating after a while. This situation was further exacerbated by a loud concert next door, limited line space due to a poorly placed autographing area, and a general worry among some of the volunteers that the TCC operators might get upset over the fire hazard raised by the large crowd.

I second the motion for identifier nametags and perhaps a more thorough map with a guide to who's where. Also, I'd love to see there be a way to regulate traffic better so that people aren't getting crushed between other people at the tables and getting all worn out real fast, and since it was really no one's fault, I'll simply pray nothing happens to cause a huge delay this year so that everyone can be happy and things can go smoothly.

Having a map would be helpful so buyers will get a better idea of what each seller is selling without having to go through the crowd trying to look through everything.
