Nominoichi Event Information

First, The Nominoichi is now sold out. All the tables have been reserved and the Stand-By list is now full.


Second, at this time the Nominoichi forum is growing by many posts every day. There is far too much stuff for us to catch everything quickly. It'd be very helpful if, when you see a post, thread, or comment that you think might be breaking any of the rules to please use the 'report post' option, even if you are not sure, and we will take a look at it. We are very grateful for all your help to keep an eye on things.


Third, Here is a draft copy of the table layout for the Nominoichi XI. I would like to remind people that this is only a proposed version of the layout. Any number of circumstances may require us to move a table, row, or even rearrange an entire section. This map is only a guide of where we hope the tables will be.

Fourth, Nominoichi Staff Tables are N114 and N115. They are at the end of the aisle and closest to the main doors. If anyone at the Nominoichi has any problems with buyers, sellers, volunteers, staff, or anyone else please come and at us at the staff tables first. Also if you lose, find, or forget anything at the Nominoichi come and see us at the staff tables. Finally, if you need any help finding a table come and see us.


Fifth, a little nomienclature. Two words we use a lot behind the scenes are buyers and sellers. Buyers are the customers at the Nominoichi, they enter the room at 7:00 and want to go shopping. We have a lot of buyers. Sellers are people who have a tables reserved. Sellers need to get into the room early to set up their stuff. All sellers are on our master list.

Here is a map of the TCC South, or main, building. This shows where the line for the Nominoichi should go. It will be outside, in the parking lot. This is the line only for buyers. It is not the place for sellers. This line will not move until we open at 7:00. All people in this line MUST have an Anime North badge. If you are in waiting this line and see anyone without a badge, please direct them over to the Convention Main Entrance because that is where registration will be.

Sixth, Only Sellers (i.e. only people who are on the list and registered at a table) will line up in Hall B, and then be admitted into Hall A as shown here. Please remember that we, the Nominoichi staff, shall be the only people to admit you and that process won't start until 5:30. We aren't even going to be in the building before 5:00. 

Hall B will be available only for sellers, not buyers, to line up in from 4:00. Do not arrive any earlier than this. Please form a single long line, tight against the airwall (that divides Halls A and B) and try to keep this line as tight and compact as possible.

Remember that Hall B is going to used for Gaming and it will not be empty. Therefore, you must remain quiet and stay as much out of the way as possible. All Chairs and Tables in Hall B are for Gaming and Nominoichi sellers are NOT allowed to sit on those chairs or put stuff on those tables. Your chairs and tables await you in Hall A!

Seventh, Sellers, please remember the deadline to add, or remove, a member of your group is May 18th. After that I not allow any further changes.


Eighth, there will be a more information to share in the coming days. Please remember to check back here form time to time to see it. Also, please don't forget to come back to this forum after the Nominoichi and let us know how we did. Please share what you think went well, what didn't, and if you have any ideas to improve next years event. I know it's a bit soon to think about that now, but don't forget about it later.


Ninth, Although there are a lot of great posts on this forum, there is one I think that deserves some special recognition. SalisofKnight continues to do an outstanding job of organizing and updating a table index of all the lists sellers are posting here.

While I'm sure others struggle with keeping their own list updated, he has been attempting to stay on top of everyone's updates. All that effort had created a fantastic resource, and one I would recommend everyone, especially new uses, to check first.

I don't know where to ask this, hopefully it is okay to ask here.

What is a good time to line up to get into the Nominoichi with little wait time? I heard it's a very popular event and I really don't want to lose my holds because I was stuck in line.

Although the event starts at 7:00 the buyers line may start from 4:00. Anyone who is lingering around to start before that will be dispersed by Public Safety.

As always the sooner you can line up the sooner you'll get in. However, although the line is very long it also moves very quickly. Last year we had everyone from the line inside the building in less than an hour. So even if you only start at 7:00 you should be in by 8:00.

Of course the earlier in the night the more crowded it is, so be aware of that too.

Stupid Question, Chris:

How do we get into Hall B to begin with? Last year I kept being shuffled between main convention entrance and the one that's closer to Hall A buyer line up (for over 20 min) until someone took pity on me and let me and my cart of haphazardly stacked boxes and wheeled bags in.

EDIT: just to say that last year I did thu pre-reg badge pick up, so I HAD MY BADGE OUT THEN and they wouldn't let me in. I have my badge this year already from being organizer of group buy.

Sellers (people with a table and on the list) will line up inside TCC Hall B.

To get there you must go through the main entrance, near the registration line in Hall D, and then enter Hall B from inside the building. To get past the registration line you must already have your Anime North badge and show that to the person at the door. You should say that you are a Nominoichi seller and you would like to go to Hall B.

Do not say you are a "dealer" or you are going to the "Marketplace" or that you are looking for the "Nominoichi entrance" or "Nominoichi line" as they may assume you want to go to the dealers room or they'll attempt to send you into the parking lot to wait in the Nominoichi buyers line. Either way you will end up waiting in the wrong place.

Just explain that you need to get to Hall B, and the only way there is through the main doors. Also, please be polite. There is a very real chance the person at the door is just a volunteer who was told to keep everyone out. You don't need to start a fight with them.

Sellers will wait in the same room as last year, Hall B, but in a slightly different way. More details are found here.

I understand about volunteers not having all the information, but it was very frustrating. I was too harried to start a fight so just kept lugging back and forth until I was let in.

Actually the plan is to start letting in the sellers at 5:30 and not any sooner.

As long as you make your way over to Hall B after 4:00, but before 6:30, you'll be fine. If you don't want to wait for a long time then head over after 5:30 when the line will be moving.

The line maps shown at the top of the page are incorrect. While the sellers line will be in Hall B it will not be in the location shown on the map as that area is now being used for dealer's tables. Sellers for the Nomi should find a Public Safety staff member or volunteer and you will be escorted to the waiting area. The buyers line will start at Security Door 4 and wrap around the front of the TCC. Here is the line map we will be following.

As well, the big blue arrow is pointing to the main TCC exit. The entrance are the ABC doors at the end of the loading docks.

Will sellers be escorted to waiting area every time they need to go in and out? If they need to make a couple of trips to the car for their stuff.

I have a question as well. This is my first year as a seller at nominoichi, and attending nominoichi period;
What's the best way for sellers to bring their stuff into the hall? I have a few, very heavy totes.

If you have any intention of lining up, I suggest something with a lot of mobility. The line starts and stops A LOT.
I intend on stacking all my totes and wrapping them to a two-wheeled dolly using skid wrap from the dollar store (heavy duty saran wrap)

You can actually rent stuff like dollies and hand trucks from U-Haul and probably similar places, so maybe give that a look?
