I updated my sale list with some new Sailor Moon trading straps and compact mirror gashapons.
Also, I have an interesting development regarding my Anime North. I just got a letter in the mail from the Attorney General graciously informing me that I've been selected for jury duty. I'm supposed to report to the court house on May 24th....
Ok. At least it doesn't conflict with AN! That is until you look up jury information and learn that you need to be available for at least 5 consecutive business days from the date on your summons to come into court for selection. So that would totally ruin my plans for Friday of AN. Honestly it was the worst date they could pick!
I just finished writing up an excuse letter and included my AN ticket, my Nomi reg e-mail and my hotel reservation info for the con to get out of jury duty. Supposedly a judge will review my letter and supporting documents. So thank you Nomi for helping me to get out of jury duty? XD I have to wait to hear if my letter has been received or else I'll have to try to get out of it in person with the same documents. Wish me luck!
Definitely not anything I expected that could possibly pop up to ruin my con. lol And I'll still be called in for jury duty at a later date so it's only delaying the inevitable. (~_~)

The good news is that they usually let you go home by 5pm-ish, so you might still be able to make it to Nomi? Hope everything works out!! ><

Hope everything works out!! >< Another friend of mine also got called in, but her summons is for two weeks from now. I just got an unlucky pull. Even getting picked for the 22nd would have been better. >.< I would think I would be done by Thursday, but the website does warn you to set aside five consecutive days so it's a little risky. I wouldn't be able to get home to North York through the TTC, get my stuff and make it to the con in time for the Nomi unfortunately, but with my letter I think it'll be ok. I appreciate the heads up though! :3 Thanks also to shadowlycan and pomelo for the well wishes! This is just super random! |
