First: Counterfeits and BootlegsSellers are expected to know what items they are selling. Depending on how many offending items you have on your table, we may just give you a warning and ask you to remove them. Although if you ignore the warning, or the majority of your stuff is counterfeit, we may have to take further action. I hope all sellers take a few moments to search the internet and educate themselves on how to identify counterfeit and bootleg merchandise. Not only to insure they are in compliance with the rules of the Nominoichi, but also when you go shopping for stuff you should be able to know what you are buying. Second: Half tablesA half table is only allowed one seller, and only this one person will be allowed into Hall C before 7:00 and after 10:30. Therefore, you can not add other 'sellers' to help move and set up your stuff. However there are a number of things that you can do to help at a half table (or even at a full table) - You, as the listed seller, are allowed to freely travel in and out of Hall C to pick up more stuff from your friends outside.
- Your friends outside can wait in the buyers line and bring you more boxes of stuff after we open the doors at 7:00.
- They can even temporary replace you at your half table between 7:00 and 10:30 (perhaps to give you a bathroom break)

So, this is going to be one of my first years at Nominoichi... Is there any tips I should keep in mind? Well, bringing bottled water with you is a good start! I've also been suggested in previous years to wear lose, light clothing, because it can get pretty hot n' sweaty in there, but it's never seemed that way to me. Also, try not to wear big cosplays in there unless you want stuff getting broken and whatnot. :C

Also, try not to wear big cosplays in there unless you want stuff getting broken and whatnot. :C definitely water in previous years I've brought as many as three bottles and occasionally that hasn't been enough. It can be deadly stuffy in there, but since you're behind the table you don't feel it half as bad as people looking around. Definitely casual cosplay or loose cosplays are best avoid wigs if possible. I didn't on my first nomi and almost fainted from heat exhaustion. Also post it's and markers are handy to have for marking prices. I didn't have them last year and had to keep repeating prices which can wear on your voice cause it can be VERY loud in there too. Also bring at least 30-50 in float money small change and bills. Makes the night easier until after your first sales. Finally, have fun! I have found the nomi to be one of my fave parts of AN I cannot wait to join in. It's fun to chat with your neighbours, interact with fellow sellers and buyers and just have fun seeing your unwanted stuff bring joy to someone else.

So, this is going to be one of my first years at Nominoichi... Is there any tips I should keep in mind? Bottled water for sure and snacks. Sometimes you don't get a chance to leave your table especially if you're on your own. A tip would be to introduce yourself to your neighbours if you're on your own and hopefully they can watch your table if you need to pop out for a few seconds! Another is if you're doing holds, I typically have those in a separate box with a list so that I don't mix things up. Having a float of $20-30 is a good idea too. I usually get loonies and toonies. Also be willing to haggle, or be willing to be firm and say no. People will try to low-ball you all the time, and if that's fine with you great! But don't get pressured into saying yes because someone is haggling with you.

Another question for Chris, should we expect it to be as hot in there as previous years, or does this year's hall have better ventilation and such?

Hi Chris! What is the signing in process for a table? I know we have to give our names and e-mails (probably to cross-reference for passes) but will we need ID from everyone on the table to sign in or would the person who owns the table can sign in and collect the labels and be responsible for distributing it?
Thank you

Signing in is simple, You shouldn't need to bring a lot of paperwork. You just have to tell us your name and table number.
With that we can sign you in, collect the table money, and then give you a ribbon.
It really helps us if your whole group can sign in together, but if you come separately remember that whoever gets there first will have to pay for the table.

For sellers who have sold previous years, what percentage of your holds usually gets picked up? I know there must be a lot of no-shows.

I have a No more holds Date (usually 20-22) on which I PM all the holds and give them a pickup password (because there have been case of ppl trying to pick up other ppl's holds to 'steal' the bargain). If they don't reply before the con I make a note they've gone MIA on my holds list and they're the first ones back on the table if they don't show. Generally holds are pretty good about picking up, I've only had like 2-3 no shows and blacklist them from holding again. If they're sellers I usually drop by their table and see if they were just too busy to come.

In past years, maybe 2-3 people didn't show up (out of 20-30 holds). All in all, I think most people do actually show up to pick up their items. Like kotoshin, I send out a confirmation PM before the convention - which I think helps to remind people to come pick up their items (or let you know before the con if they want to take their hold off something; so that you're not stuck waiting to see if they show up or not).

I have another question, although I'm not sure if anyone but staff can answer.
Are sellers allowed in the seller waiting area without a badge? I understand that you need a badge to check in, but I'm picking up a table mate's badge and I think I'll arrive slightly late, and ideally I'd like it if they lined up in the sellers line for me. If not, it's totally alright and I understand.

Correct. If you want to enter the Sellers door you will need both a badge and your name on the list of sellers. The Staff will even kick you out of the Nominoichi line if you don't have a badge.
