I have a large variety of games, manga, figures and other merch, I honestly like it as it is now and would think that it might make some areas less busy than others. The idea is neat, but we only have a few hours to get rid of as much as we can. As a shopper I would probably skip the cosplay section since thats not something I am very interested in, but I would miss everything else the sellers would have mixed in.

I'm going to go off topic here but try to answer a few questions posted. point taken I have a different suggestion, The convention should supply signs for each table, or something to hang the sign from, so its not easily blocked by foot traffic around each table, if there also could be a way string the signs above each table or something like that, it would decreases people trying to barge through other people to find the right table they are looking for. Hello Dragongoose It has always been the responsibility of the seller to make their table stand out. I have spent time talking to Chris about this before. Offering my suggestions with a few solutions. I know that each table is provided a 8x11 print out of their table number. That print out is not visible or helps the table stand out. The first year I place a colour table cloth in front of my table but people standing in the way blocks the cloth completely. So no one saw the table cloth and couldn't find me. I learn from that lesson. I didn't know how busy nominoichi was. The second time I talk it over with Chris about placing a long pole on the table. Using zip ties to hold the pole in place. Using tape will leave a sticky film on the table and as a result be damaging to con property. Placing 2 poles on table legs giving me a banner. Straywind sign was a very smart idea. I really loved how she made her sign a pokemon stop with her table number. It made her table stand out but also draw in traffic. At the end I went with a 60" cardboard with my table number printed on it. I even got the table next to me number on it in order to help them as well. I got the cardboard from a local best buy. It's a wide screen TV box. I used zip ties to lock the sign in place. It was a good 10' above ground. I didn't get a chance to take a picture of the finish set up because set up took me too long. But I think it help with people finding my table.

Honestly, I think last year the heat and humidity was a lot less terrible than it had been before. The hall it was in last year should definitely be where it is this year, IMO. Agreed, I liked last year's area. The year before that was way worse in terms of heat/humidity imo, I got quite sick towards the end of the night. As for dividing sellers into sections, I like the concept! I'd certainly be on board for trying it out this year to see if it works well or not.

I've locked the poll because we've already posted the info about sections on the website.
MUSIC was cut, as it's didn't get any votes, the rest are options for this year. Thanks for all your feedback about the Sections idea. I hope it works out this year!

Since we're doing sections now, is the 50/50 rule a bit moot?

The 50-50 rule is a Global rule for the entire Nominoichi. EVERY table in every section is expected to adhere to all the the rules, including the 50-50. There are no exceptions for specific sections.
Therefore, a table in the Manga and DVD section or the Figure and Model section should easily fit the >%50 anime goods in just those two items alone.
Likewise, a table in the Games section is expected to include >%50 Anime goods (Including anime games) and <%50 other things, (Usually non-anime games I'd assume). The Fashion and Cosplay sellers would operate in much the same way.
And the General Anime items section is just like a "classic" nominoichi section. Although each table must still be made up of >%50 anime and <%50 of the specific seven other items listed on the website, those items are of mixed types and do not easily fit into one of the new sections.
The inclusion of sections does not exempt sellers from any of the global nominoichi rules. It's just an optional way to sort sellers depending on what items they plan to offer.
Now, this year we are still including the 50-50 rule, as well as many others listed on the website. However, if you feel these should be reviewed, changed, or retired we welcome those opinions. Please submit any changes you'd like to see for NEXT years Nominoichi AFTER this years event ends. There will be special threads made for your feedback in late May.

Can I submit feedback in advance and say that the different sections was a bad idea (again), or do I have to wait until May to say it (again)?

Sure, if you want to. But please understand that we still plan to wait and see how the sections actually affect things this year. Then, after review, we'll decide if they were good or not; and if we should keep, modify, or remove them in the future.
After the Nominoichi there will be feedback threads set up for people to post about their experience, and to share ideas for NEXT year. All those comments will also be considered when we look forward to 2019 and beyond.
However, for now, we plan to keep the focus on this years event.

I agree with AJ the collector. Having attended Nominoichi as a seller last year, and as a buyer the past 5+ years, I found the Nominoichi to be the coolest and least humid last year than it had been in a while. As nice as it would be to even further cool the hall down, it's pretty much out of their hands, and moreso in the hands of the convention center owners.
With that said, all the more reason why they emphasize bringing water to stay hydrated, and dress in soft layers (if possible).
Keep up the great work this year staffers!
Here's hoping the sectioning of the Nominioichi makes things more efficient!
