Have been wanting to do this for a while. Started off as being "Anime in a Canadian Context" last year, but was not able to panel on that due to a panel conflict. I have registered the panel with one other person, but if anyone is interested, we are looking for folks who have experience/interest/hobbies in TV and or communications, who grew up watching YTV and can speak to its “weirdness” and how that let them incorporate anime and become arguably the "official" distributor of anime in Canada.
Deets below:
Title: Keep it Weird: YTV and Anime in Canada
Description: Unpacking the importance of YTV for distributing Anime to a “Canadian market.”
Section: Meta
AV: Yes

I always found it funny just how many shows on YTV ended up being anime (without being marketed as such) back when i was a child. The endless resets on Inuyasha were torture though! If you find yourselves still looking for additional panelists, send me a message and we can have a chat about it

I'd love to join this panel, watching YTV was how I discovered anime in the first place.

If everyone in this thread signs up we will have 5 panelists registered. The more experiences to share, the merrier! Let me know when you do, y'all!
