Welcome to the Nominoichi section of the Anime North forums.
This board is intended to allow you to ask questions and discover answers about the Nominoichi. It's a place where sellers can list what they want to sell and discuss things with Nominoichi buyers. It's a place where you are welcome to offer ideas and suggestions about how we can improve in the future. From time to time we may even expand or clarify the Nominoichi rules here. In short it's a very busy place.
To keep things running smoothly we have created some rules to cover what you can and can't post here:
Rule 1:
If you see a post, thread, or comment that you think might be breaking any of the rules please use the 'report post' option, even if you are not sure, and we will take a look at it. The Nominoichi section is the most active board in the entire teahouse and we need your help to keep an eye on things.
Rule 2:
This forum is not a general marketplace. Private Sales (any outside of the Dealers room, Comic Market, Nominoichi, etc... where you have not paid the convention and/or the venue for the right to conduct sales) are not allowed in convention space, including parking lots, and can result in having your con badge removed. No attempt to violate this rule will be permitted on any Anime North forum.
Rule 3:
Sellers with registered tables are welcome and encouraged to post lists of what they plan to sell. However, sellers must include their table number in the subject line of any selling list they want to post. Furthermore, if a seller wants to offer something under a different post, they must include their table number in the body of the comment. For example: Something like "I'm selling one of these too, PM me for details." will not be allowed. But, something like "I'm selling one of these too, come see me at table N-000" would be fine.
Rule 4:
'want to buy' lists are not allowed. If you are looking for something specific please carefully examine the lists sellers post here. (but remember that not every item a seller has may be listed, and not every seller will post a list, so it's always best to check the Nominoichi in person) This rule is not aimed at people asking sellers questions. If a seller has posted something that you would like more details about, please feel free to ask them. For example: if a list includes "...and various English manga" you are welcome to question what they are, or if a specific issue will be sold. This rule is for people who are posting shopping lists hoping sellers will find them.
Rule 5:
'Holds' are any type of voluntary agreement between a seller and a buyer to sell items at the Nominoichi at a fixed price and/or time. The Nominoichi staff do not consider any of these agreements to be binding, and either side may abrogate such an arrangement without penalty. We absolutely will not enforce any hold agreements. With that understood, you are welcome to use this board to make and manage any holds you'd like.
Rule 6:
The Nominoichi event allows both buyers and sellers to engage in bargaining and haggling over the price of items. However, this in entirely optional and sellers are not required to negotiate with every buyer, or entertain every offer. Sometimes the prices listed, or quoted, will be the final price.
Rule 7:
Sellers are welcome to offer new items at the Nominoichi. However, it is possible that someone could attempt to claim that an item is 'new' when it is not. Perhaps believing that buyers would pay more, and bargain less, if they think they are getting a new item rather than a used one. Because we have no method to properly identify if an item is really new, or like-new-but-used, the Nominoichi considers all items to be used and as-is. We remind potential buyers to inspect and carefully judge the items themselves, and then decide if it is worth the price.
Those are all the rules we have for now. Please remember to check back here from time to time as new rules may be added, and old rules may be amended. If you have any questions about these rules, or any new rules you'd like to propose, please let us know.
And thanks for your interest in the Nominoichi!
