The Stand By list for the Nominoichi has been cancelled and that's a good thing.
Unfortunately the Fashion Swap did not have enough people reserve tables this year, and they had some unsold tables.
Those tables have now been taken by the Nominoichi and are being offered to everyone who was on the official Stand By List waiting for a table. I've sent those people an email asking if they are still interested in participating in the Nominoichi. I'm hopeful everyone will respond soon.
However, if someone from the Stand By list is no longer interested in participating in the Nominoichi, then I may have an unclaimed table.
At this point it's too early to tell, but assuming there are any unclaimed tables, how you suggest that I offer them?
I want to balance Fairness with Haste. The Convention is only getting closer and I don't want to be left with an empty table.
What would you do?

have you announced a date to these people on the stand-by list that they need to respond to your email by?

Not officially, but I assume 2-3 days would be enough time to read and respond.

In that case then, I'd suggest either first come first serve starting now, or first come first serve starting Thursday or Friday. Personally, I'm leaning more towards the latter suggestion so that there's plenty of time to think about participating and because there is more of a defined timeframe to reply in but I (clearly) can't say that I'm familiar with the risks involved with waiting for so long for the venue to fill up sooooo...uhh there's my two cents, I suppose.

i dont think first come first serve is a fair idea due to the fact that people have work or has no internet on their phone and wont get on forum until later time while college/university study finish exam and can be on the forum like 24/7

^ oh pfft, I typed in those suggestions thinking that it would be done through e-mail rather than through the forums but your criticism is stilll valid in either case. haha whoops, totally forgot to consider the average age group of the nomi sellers.

You have let the stand by list people know there are tables. I would think a first come emailed in first served as such like you do with originally getting tables with e nomi. Set a time and date ie Wednesday at 8 first to email in gets the tables. Basiclly hold s mini entry like you do to get a table, That's my 2 cents. Then again, I already have a table so I'm not sure what's fare

The people that were on the standby list have already been notified. If everyone who was on that list still wants a table then I'll have no problem. However, if some people from the stand by list are not interested, or don't reply, I'll have a few unused tables.
Right now I have 7 and 1/2 unclaimed tables, but it hasn't even been 24 hours since I sent out the emails. I'll wait at least another day or two for people to respond.
If I don't have every table claimed by then, at that point I must decide what to do with any left over tables.
Based on the votes I have now the popular option is to go back to those who sent in a table request last month, but couldn't get on the Stand By list because it was full then. I should contact those people first and see if they are still interested in getting a table this year.
My concern is time. If I wait a few days for the first batch of people to reply, then I send out a second wave of emails and wait for those people to reply, and repeat. Every cycle takes about 2-3 days and I don't have that much time before the con.
This is why I am open to the idea of assigning additional tables (assuming there are any) in another faster method. Because, although I always want to be fair, I have a larger fear of starting the Nominoichi with an empty table.

I hope the people on the stand by list take the tables (by the end of the week), if not I would just post on the AN website you have tables available.. and then wait to be drowned in emails EDIT: Just saw your post, maybe offer a few tables right now and then make a small standby list for them? I don't know if that is to much trouble?

since time is not ur friend then y dont u do this ...
while waiting for the first wave to reply (1-2 days) ... send a early warning email to the second wave or post about table being open with the condition that you must have a list of things you are selling with the 50-50 rule done ... this will help you sort out people who are serious of selling and at the same time it save you time due to the second wave already getting things ready ...

Perhaps in terms of fairness, if there are still tables after those who filled the initial form are contacted and those selected, have a forum topic that allows those who are interested to post that they are, (open for a day or two) assign numbers and use an online random number generator to pick people for the remaining tables.
Id personally be very interested in having a table but I work and don't have access to the forum while I am, making first come first served hard for me

Alright everyone, thanks for your input. I've heard back from a few more interested sellers and I sent out a few emails to people who didn't make it on the stand by list the first time, some of them have already responded positively, so I think even if all the people I asked in "Round 1" don't want tables the people who have already expressed an interest in "Round 2" will fill in the gap. I may even rebuild a smaller Stand By list again. Anyway I decided to un-sticky this post, and let fall gracefully to the back pages. Thanks again to everyone for your feedback and comments. If you have anything else to add please let me know.
