I think this should be an easy sell. I was originally thinking of just doing a Masaaki Yuasa panel, but considering the explosion in popularity of Devilman Crybaby I think this would be a better idea. A lot of my friends that don't even watch anime are watching this and it's having a really positive effect for the anime industry overall IMO. Its strange to see an anime with so much violence and sexual content become so popular so quickly. I imagine its mostly due to Netflix, but the show itself is very well done.
For things we could talk about in the panel -Differences between manga and anime -Short history of Yuasa's career and what led up to him directing Devilman -Some background knowledge on Go Nagai the original creator of Devilman -The impact of Devilman Crybaby on the anime industry and fandom
And obviously we would end off in a Q&A
So yeah just looking for folks that would be down to do the panel with me. I have like maybe 2 friends in mind, but I don't think it would be a guaranteed thing and its nice to meet and collaborate with new ppl tbh.

**interested in attending** Devilman Crybaby felt ... right. If that makes sense. I don't know why it does, but it did. Maybe it was the art, music, execution, uncensored nips, etc? But I would love to hear other peoples' thoughts and opinions! I'm def gonna make an effort to be at this panel!

There's also so much content in the characters themselves and the theory behind it all. I'm down for this panel ✌️

Also interested in hosting! Huge fan of Masaaki Yuasa and Devilman was as incredible as I'd hoped, so I'd love to be on board. I'm really into the production side of things so I could definitely contribute something on that end here -- and just geek out about the series in general, of course.

I signed up but the description when I registered turned into 'yaoi'. Lol. Just the word 'yaoi'. That's... I hope that's just from the first person who registered and not the main focus. Doesn't sound like people overall just want to focus on the m/m relationship in the series (also let's not forget the miko/miko love), but the series overall.

The description's been updated. Right now it's in the Yaoi/Yuri North section but I can put it into the General track.

Hm, I consider the series more shonen than shonen-ai.

Hm, I consider the series more shonen than shonen-ai. I wouldn't even think it's shonen-ai... definitely shonen. The series is Action, Horror, Supernatural... There's an overarching theme of exploring "love" but it didn't feel like romantic love, more of a general exploration of what love really is (familial love, etc.).
