Would anyone be interested in running / being a co-panelist on cosplay photography?
Maybe talking about topics covering the photographer and cosplayer? Some ideas I have:
- Posing basics - Choosing a location - Lighting basics - Device specific tips (photo vs dslr) - HDR, Aperture, f-stops: what does that all mean? - Taking good photos without the best equipment - Convention-specific notes - General tips and tricks

I'll be graduating my photography program this year so I'm by no means an expert but maybe I can bring a more scientific outlook that maybe hobbyists aren't aware of? Things like full frame vs crop sensor, lens choices and how to use lens distortion to your advantage, camera angles, ISO and why it's important. Maybe also delving into RAW processing software such as Lightroom vs CaptureOne and talking about ways to use Photoshop that don't involve plenty of time.

Which (phone) filters to use to instantly ruin a photo? Teehee.

This I've done a full semester of Photography but I still I'm at novice level. As for the panel, maybe something geared towards a portfolio? Most photographers I'm aware of usually devel in cosplay photography, which is fine of course, but having a wide range of photos couldn't hurt. It's just to show anyone outside looking to see what kind of background their photographer might have. Forgot to add: Cropping, and focus. How much of the background do you really want? How do I crop a photo without affecting the photo too much? Who/what is my focus? Those kinds of things, and the things nt3rp already posted are things to think about not just in cosplay photography but photography in general.

We still have room for one more if someone would like to join anpanels.com/I'm very new to it as a photographer, although I've got more experience on the other side of the camera as a cosplayer. I'd be willing to sign up if it would make/break the panel happening, but I'm sure there's more experienced people out there than me. Would you be including some of the issues in cosplay photography, such as consent to photograph, ownership of photos, and how to not be a bloody creeper? These things come up a fair bit.

There might be more experienced folks, but they aren't signing up I don't think it would be a big focus of the presentation, but it would be a glaring omission if it weren't given at least some time to mention.

I suggest only spending a few minutes on these topics - other panels will be discussing them in depth.

I think the main focus of the panel is more on the technical, rather the the ethical aspects of photography Ethics and morals are different between people and sometimes, it's hard to teach someone to not be a creeper.

It sounds like there are at least two panelists available for this (and I received an A/V notice about this panel and have submitted some WIP / demo slides via Dropbox); what does this panel require before it is greenlit (or rejected)?

Deciding if we do it under cosplay track, or general and hit the “close” button. (Assuming the demo is satisfactory, but I’m confident)
