Otaku Help Wanted!
Once again, we're looking for a few good Otaku to help spread the word
about their favourite anime, artists and other hot topics. All it takes is an hour
of your time, sitting in a room sharing your ideas with others. It can't get any
easier than that.(1)
Words from the Wise:
You should expect to be contradicted and to have to defend your point of view in
more details than "Pokemon R00ls D00ds".
If you are unsure if you have enough material, see if you can talk 15
minutes on the subject of the panel without repeating yourself.
There's going to be 4 of you there, so that fills the hour.
(You’re expected to be ready to do more, and prep a bit. But it’s a benchmark.)
Bringing notes, props, and prepared speeches are all the marks of experienced panelists.
Practice is also a good idea
What's the Reward?
Signing up for 1 or 2 gets you a some privilege and a token of our appreciation.
The more panels you do, the more swag you earn. (We'll figure something for 3)
Sit on 4 panels and get an Anime North Shirt, (We get exclusive designs and they go from Wow ! to WOW!!!)
Sit on 5 panels, and we'll REFUND YOUR MEMBERSHIP or give you a pre-reg Sunday
And whatever nice things I can manage to swing for my people
Ready to Sign Up?
Check out the threads, LAQ and suggestions:

Remember: The email you give us will be available to your co-panelists and be used as needed for scheduling. The bongooonnnggg list is now managed separately at eepurl.com/diRAm5
Get to the panelist registration form (www.anpanels.com) (if you lost your
password, just follow the directions there.)
Panelist signup will close when all available slots have been filled.
When you check in at the Panelist Desk/Office you will be given a special panelist ribbon and a personal schedule.
For every panel you sit on, the schedule must signed by either your fellow
panelists or Stamped by the Staff people outside the door. Turn the completed form back in to the con office
Sunday after 12:00 and we will give you your rewards.
What's different ?
THE PANELS DEPARTMENT NO LONGER HANDLES BADGES.
Collect from Registration or have it mailed in.
Check the new rules, we have a track system, and the LAQ moved.
A couple of people will be helping and getting in touch with people to discuss
some details, but it's mostly behind the scenes.
I will be moving a lot. Purple sheet turn-ins should still be in York (exact time TBA) . Office location TBA. I still have the phone.
Camera-chan will make more appearance. Our archive camera will be filming panels non stop.
Not Ready To Be a Panelist Yet?
That's okay, you can still help out by creating a thread in the forum
and put "panel suggestion: whatever you wanna see" in the subject line.
Not sure ?
See you at the Teahouse of the Maple Moon and chat with Fingers.
Or email panels -at- animenorth com and we'll chat...
Fingers, The PanelGuru, Toot Toot!
(1) well, adding in a couple of hours to brush up on your topic before the Con is
a better idea. And some scheming with the other peeps on it (2).. But at the actual convention, that's about it
(2) reading the FAQ threads is also a good idea.
(3) Notepad is doing very strange things tonight.
