Hey! If you're checking out this thread, thank you! I know anything that says 'Advanced' is usually kind of intimidating but I wanted to start pulling away from general Crossplay because I know there are a few people who love running that panel and they got it covered.
My partner and I usually run Crossplay panels at conventions around the GTA and upper States as we only crossplay and I find there are so many details that I want to cover but can't in the limited time frame. That's why I wanted to do an Advanced Crossplay panel so we could get into the meat of things.
If you're curious about what kind of topics I mean to cover that we'd really push our knowledge and know how into, here are some examples:
Makeup for Photoshoots vs Convention Hours
Confusing the public on your gender (Which will not be confused with transitioning or actual gender)
How to own it (aka Confidence)
Photoshoot stances and expressions
Cosplay Choices (I get this one a lot from beginners)
Etc.
As usual, Crossplay should only be seen as an art and nothing more. Do not confuse this with gender and sexuality even though it can help in some ways for people who want to experiment. I'm only covering Female to Male because I have a female body and I do not know anything about Male to Female (do a panel for that if you want!). I do not mention anything about packing (or only if questioned), I do not mention a single thing about transitioning (that is for another panel if it comes up this year), I keep it completely PG because there are usually children in the crowd.
Sign up if you want!

Anyone who's interested can apply through anpanels. You don't need to be vetted by the first person who applied for the idea.
If you do apply, please feel free to post here about your experience or ideas.

I think the main concern (since I'm the partner of the original poster) is that people will apply and not contribute anything to the conversation. We don't want people just getting a free ride when we've put in a lot of work for all our crossplay panels.

A complete side note from any other conversations, I think I'd love to take ten minutes of the panel to do an audience tip moment. Like people can come up and tell the rest of the audience a tip that we might have not covered. I mean last year we ran into questions about fake beards and since we only do pretty anime boys we asked a member of the audience who was actually wearing a fake beard to give their insight on it. I don't expect every person on the panel to know everything so it would be nice to have everyone with a louder voice to share!
Thoughts? I just wanted to put that out there before I forgot.

I like it. You may want to request mics, especially if the audience is going to come up to share a tip. You could prompt them to line up to the side of the room when you begin this section as well.

Considering that people don't need to post here to apply to panels, you can't avoid your valid fear entirely. If you get approved and find that the other panelists aren't responding to emails or don't seem to know what they're talking about when you're prepping for the panel, let us know.
