Just a brief update about what's happening with Nominoichi registration.
First we have almost 200 reservations! This is much better than last year where it took the full sign up time to hit %100. So we are pleased with the turn-out so far, and there's still the rest of the week to go.
While we had designed an updated sign-up page and wrote our instructions for the Anime North website based on that, an unexpected error seemes to have put an older version of the page instead. This one is missing a few new features we wanted to include this year.
After some internal discussion we feel the better solution is to just roll with it this year, and try to fix it next time. However, this has also caused a few problems, and led to a bit of confusion. Such as....
1) Q: When are you posting the lottery results?
A: Hopefully before the 15th of April.
As noticed by a few people, and despite the information in your email, the results of the lottery will not take place in June. Once the application period ends it still takes a few days to get everything sorted and to post the results here. I hope to have this done quickly, but I know well from past experience that it often takes about a week to get everything done.
With that understood, I shall make every effort to have the final list ready and posted before the 15th of this month (April).
2) Q: How do I apply for the $5 discount?
A: Don't worry. We will check you eligibility and apply it automatically
Although last years database has been expunged from the server, as per the privacy policy, we still have a list of tables and names from 2022. (Thankfully it's sorted alphabetically) This means that we will have to manually cross reference everyone's name who get's a table this year with that list from last year, and then apply the $5 discount if any of the names match. Yes this will take a lot of time, but it's also something we can do after we post the table results, so it won't slow us down at that end.
I hope that clarifies things for everyone. If you have any further questions, or any problems with Nominoichi table registration, I welcome you to post them here.
... and as always, thanks for your continuing interest in the Nominoichi!
