Last year there was a tentative map posted on here about a week or two before the con. Even then I think there were a couple of tables that still needed to be moved around. The staff desk at the market always has a reliable map though so perhaps check with them.

The map sure didn't do much good in last year's chaos, but hopefully things'll go way better in general this year.

Actually the posted map and the final layout were not that much different.
Because of the water leak we had to move a few tables, but in total less than ten of the 150 were not where they were planned to be.

Sure some people have purchases they are picking up and have a particular destination, but most are probably just browsing. Sans the sellers and staff, most are probably unaware of reserving on the forums.

I would agree with everyone here about some sort of signage - even large printed table numbers on 8.5x11 paper that are hung from the front of the tables or behind them on a wall? I've always made my own sign, but it may be easier for some people? Also having some sort of table cloth (even plastic) would be awesome so that we don't have to worry about the things we store under the tables.
About the delay, there was very little communication about it when I was in line. I understand that delays happen, but maybe communicating to the sellers/buyers about approximately how much of a delay there is will lessen some of the problems/aggravation? Personally, I don't remember getting any updates and was getting quite frustrated myself as we had about 4 people in line with us helping us hold everything we had who were missing out on the rest of the convention.
Other than that, the Nomi pretty much goes smoothly for me every year. The only other thing I can say is maybe enforce the selling rules better, such as having monitors walk around and check what people are selling? Last year I saw quite a few DVDs that most definitely did not fall into any of the categories. Same thing with some toys. Just makes it a bit annoying as a buyer to walk around expecting Anime merch and finding Grey's Anatomy DVDs instead.

I agree on this. I didn't hear anything about why there was a delay until I was home for the night, though when I did get into the room I could plainly see the buckets and corded off area. If you at least inform the person up front, they can tell the people behind them if they ask and pass the message along as the line forms, so you could even avoid having a volunteer or staff person constantly telling newcomers what's going on.

Not sure if already said, but maybe tables set up where there are already numbers (Large numbers possibly posted up high somehow?) so that the dealers can just go in and set up at their designated table easily and hopefully smoothly (Though I dunno if this is already how it is.) This I think would make it easier for maps to be made.

Didn't all the tables have signs attached to the front of them which stated the number? I remember them being somewhat futile since buyers crowded the tables so much that no one could see them. That's the main reason I liked Kunichiofox's idea (last post) of using 'hello my name is' stickers to make the table number more visible.

Is there any way we get get a brief list of who's selling what? Even as brief as something like "N108: anime DVDs, manga, video games; N109: manga, plushies, comics, figures" would make a difference. To save printing costs, this could be something that is handed to people as they enter the event instead of being listed in the program guide or the pocket guide.

Well that already partly exists with the Table Index thread. While it is never a complete nor an official thread it has its uses. Earlier someone mentioned people who were selling very non anime related items. While nomi policy does allow the sale of these items to some degree it is still annoying to hit a table that has sold the majority of their anime stuff and only have western dvds on their table. If we asked the sellers to provide a description of what they are bringing it might discourage this. Also if we want to avoid cutting up trees just make the list digital with a couple paper copies at the staff desk for refrence. Most people these days have smartphones. If you make it a pdf or word doc anyone could download it and refrence it on the fly.

Yeah, like maybe having two or three paper copies (maybe four for good measure) and then have a QR code that opens up a map and list of tables with basic wares. Also, perhaps as an idea for displaying table numbers, maybe jury rig some poles or 1x2 wood pieces between the tables (or a certain number of tables like two or three) and tie string around the top, and tape the table number signs to the string. I'm kind of thinking like what Costco does with some of their products (namely the ones that are too bulky or heavy to go on shelves or tables, like packs of water bottles and toilet paper). Probably wouldn't work as well as I envision, but it's something, right?

Either a stand of some sort (which would take up space on the floor), or rigging them to the table themselves (which the tcc staff may take issue with since I think they are their tables). What might work is assigning the islands to a letter or number. Then you could place large signs at either end of the islands with just the assigned character. Maybe pin a copy of the map to each.

Very happy there was more space between the rows this year! Spreading out the various rows so people have lots of room to walk is great, and as others have said, farther away from a concert would be much better. Also if there was a way to get the sellers in quicker? They almost didn't let us sellers inside until the marketplace itself was about to open. I know delays can come up for whatever reason and it's often not the organizers' faults! But any way we can minimize delays on the sellers being able to set up would be super appreciated. Speaking as an eager seller, we don't mind coming early!

Just making a list available on the forum isn't enough. I bet that around 90% of AN attendees don't visit the forum, and of those, probably 70% don't know if its existence and use social media to communicate instead.
